I've fitted gas struts to the rear door to avoid the danger of it unhooking from the prop and dropping on my head. Used two struts from a range rover boot lid and had to make up my own brackets for the top. these struts on Amazon should match what I used: https://amzn.to/2IVjcdZ And these are similar ball joints https://amzn.to/2NorhKK Everything is only bolted on so no damage or changes to the original fittings. All can be removed if needed
